Blond's Story

It was the beginning of the year 2018, when I found a kitten that was in a corner near the garbage cans, it was a very unique kitten, it was meowing around me and preferred to caress me before eating.

This loving cat created such sympathy in me, that he made me go to that place every day to feed him, I could not take him home, because other cats lived with me at that time, so from that moment on, between my daily routines I began to go feed that beautiful kitten called Blond.

Time passed and there was not a day missing to bring food to Blond, who little by little brought other cat friends to share the food that I gave him. To the point that I end up feeding and sterilizing an entire colony of cats. His friends came, ate and left, but not Blond, Blond was different, he was not there for the food, but because he saw something more in me than the person who fed him, he stayed with me all the time, the food was not his priority, but the caresses that I gave him and the moments of play that we shared. Every day when he left, his eyes did not take off from me, as if wondering if he would see me again and I always looked at him with the promise of returning and the hope of finding him again.

After many years of this routine of feeding and caring for Blond and his friends, due to things in life I had to move from the area where these stray cats were, and a friend was left in charge of feeding them all. I was unable to see Blond and his friends for a while, and despite having left them in good hands, I couldn't stop thinking about them and particularly Blond who was an extremely dependent cat, so I decided to take the trip to meet up with Blond and friends again.

Upon arrival, the friendly cats were appearing, but Blond did not. My heart was in knots, while feeding his friends I was looking for Blond in the surroundings, but there was no sign of him. I feared the worst since unfortunately there are many people who abuse animals and Blond, being so affectionate, could have tried to get close to the wrong person. Suddenly I heard his peculiar meow and there was Blond, when I noticed he had a deep wound on his neck. Without thinking I loaded it up and went home with him.

The vet treated him, he was cured and was on antibiotics for several days. The decision was very clear, Blond would never return to the streets. It was since then, June 2022, that Blond began to live with me, in a safe roof and without having to ask us again if we would see each other again.

Blond fully recovered from his injury and lives a happy life by my side, he is part of this beautiful project of La Rubia de los Gatos, where I am the Blonde and he is the Blond who accompanies me on this adventure.
